SIGILS FOR COMMUNICATION

Nevermore is a meditation on transformation and the desire for freedom; on wanting to leave this world behind, to take flight and inhabit a place elsewhere. The works in Nevermore occupy a sparse and eerie spirit world where time feels suspended. Figures dance and convulse, moving freely between screens and appearing to be caught mid-transformation between human and bird. The work draws on ideas of shamanic journeying, where trance and ritual allow shamans to shapeshift and traverse spirit worlds.
